• Originally from Foam Lake, SK where he grew up in a farming environment, providing him with in depth training, knowledge, and understanding of the Western Canadian agriculture industry.
• He is a graduate of Athol Murray College of Notre Dame and Yale University (B.A. Economics), playing hockey at both institutions.
• Trained within a Wall Street setting in financial and commodity market and trend analysis. 
• Director of the Mandi Schwartz Foundation, an non-profit honouring the late Mandi Schwartz that increases bone marrow donor awareness and registration.
• Director on the Board of Alumni for Athol Murray College of Notre Dame.
