Prakash Tiwari is National Specialist for Livelihoods sector in World Vision International Nepal and is responsible to provide: leadership to the organisation on the implementation of WVIN’s Livelihood strategy; Livelihood technical advice at a national and district level; build the capacity of staff and WV partners in Livelihood programming; and engage with external networks, stakeholders and donors for co-ordination, learning and advocacy. He was a project manager for JFSADP (Jumla Food Security and Agriculture Diversification Project) in World Vision International Nepal where he was responsible in managing food security projects and before joining World Vision, as project coordinator for food security in Rural Development Group Program, an NGO, as credit manager in a development bank as well. He has been working in development sector for about 10 years and has experience of working in terai, mid hills and mountain regions within Nepal. He has good in-country experience in introducing and promoting organic and eco-friendly agriculture practices. He holds a university degree in agriculture, and has good knowledge and experience in the areas of agriculture, food security, value chain development and agribusiness. Along with national expereinces, he has also worked as Economic and Agriculture Development Advisor in Cyclone Pam response in Pacific (Vanauatu).

He is writer of a booklet on Buckwheat Cultivation and Products which was published in 2009 during the course of JFSADP implementation. He is a member of National Disaster Management Team in the organization and a member of Nepal Food Cluster representing the organization.
