Forest Monitoring

Technical Exchange on Forest Monitoring for Measurement, Reporting and Verification

Hybrid Event, 26/11/2024 - 28/11/2024

This knowledge exchange will bring together participants to advance joint learning and knowledge exchange on technical aspects of National Forest Monitoring Systems (NFMS) and MRV, notably including: Uncertainty analysis (Tuesday), Area estimation (Wednesday), and Removals from forest restoration (Thursday).

Participants will be MRV practitioners involved in data collection and MRV reporting, and other relevant REDD+/forest carbon entities and international partners. Forest countries intending to participate include Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ghana, Guatemala, Indonesia, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Uganda and Viet Nam.

This knowledge exchange is part of a wider global exchange. The Global Forest Observations Initiative (GFOI) and its lead partner the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), under the UK-funded Accelerating Innovative Monitoring for Forests (AIM4Forests) Programme, are hosting a collaborative south-south knowledge exchange forum on national forest monitoring throughout the whole week - Enhancing Forest Monitoring and Collaboration; A South-South Knowledge Exchange.

Registration is through invitation only, through the links below. All registered attendees will receive a private zoom.
