Based on the good practices and lessons learned from PARE 1+1, this webinar focuses on developing public programmes – from design to monitoring and evaluation – to channel remittances into sustainable investment of small and medium-sized agribusinesses.

FAO is developing a new strategy for engagement with the private sector. To ensure that the strategy is fit for purpose, FAO is seeking inputs from the private sector. To do so, FAO is hosting a series virtual meetings and a 3-part online consultation during the period 2 to 24 July 2020 to discuss how FAO and the private sector can work together in accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals.

Today, approximately 71% of child labour, or 108 million children worldwide, is found in the agriculture sector. Child labour perpetuates a cycle of poverty for the children involved, their families and communities, where they are likely to be the rural poor of tomorrow. This online discussion will be instrumental to identify and document good and promising practices for which evidence-based research and replication could be explored.

Closing the gender gap in access to productive resources and services is crucial for the achievement of a Zero Hunger world. This online discussion aims at collecting the views from a wide range of stakeholders about the relations between gender equality, sustainable soil management and food security.

External and internal migration flows can have a significant impact on poverty, food security, nutrition and the development of rural areas due to their demographic, economic and societal implications.
