G77 & China Plenary Meeting Agenda Highlights: 09 May 2024
On 09 May 2024, the G77 & China Plenary Meeting convened at FAO, in Rome. Around 60 delegates, both in person and online, shared information and fostered discussions on pertinent matters concerning the Group, FAO and other Rome Based Agencies (RBAs).
Mr. Kaveh Zahedi, Director of FAO's Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment, delivered an insightful briefing on FAO’s work on Climate Change.
The appointment of the Vice-Chairperson for the year of 2024 was announced. The group welcomed Mr Tomas Alberto Duncan Jurado, Permanent Representative of Panama, as Vice-Chairperson, marking an important step in the leadership structure of the Group.
The G77 & China Plenary Meetings serves as a platform for dialogue and collaborative decision-making, reflecting the continued commitment of members to advancing shared goals and objectives of the developing nations.
