Regional and local capacity building for the implementation of the Climate Change Framework Law in Chile

The general objective of this Readiness proposal is strengthening Chile's capacity for the subregional and local implementation of the Climate Change Framework Law. This Readiness proposal will directly and indirectly address the following barriers:

• lack of alignment between local and regional instruments and national climate change management and sectorial instruments to advance resilience, integrated territorial development, and carbon-neutrality in different territories;
• limited technical capacities at regional and local levels to integrate and manage climate change through the engagement of local stakeholders, including Indigenous people and women; and
• insufficient dissemination of and articulation with existing international, national and subnational financial mechanisms for regional and local climate action.
