In the Ka'atymirî San Francisco indigenous community, yerba mate is grown for consumption, to generate economic income, to mitigate the impacts of climate change, and, above all, to maintain the ancestral culture. This effort now has the support of the PROEZA Paraguay project, an initiative financed by the Green Climate Fund that is implemented with technical assistance from FAO.
