Support to Congo's readiness for the Green Climate Fund in the land use and forestry sector

The readiness funds will be used to strengthen the GCF cell and its capacities to coordinate GCF efforts in the country, with a particular focus on the forestry and land use sector. This sector is the largest source of emissions in the country and has been the focus of several international partners active in the country.

Notably, the readiness support will be used to organize regular meetings with key partners in the field, strengthen the country’s capacities on the role of the forestry and land use sector in the national GCF country programme, perform outreach/communication activities about the country’s GCF portfolio in the forestry and land use sector (nationally and internationally), and procure material as well as consultancy services to assist the Focal Point in its mandate.
