An assessment of land degradation was carried out following the UNCCD’s Good Practice Guidance (GPG) version 2 to monitor the monitoring period status (2015 - 2020) of the land cover sub-indicator of SDG Indicator 15.3.1 (Proportion of land that is degraded over total land area) to locate the degraded areas in Uruguay. ESA Climate Change Initiative land cover data were used to calculate the land cover transitions using the default UNCCD matrix.
