Belarus extends embargo on some food imports until 30 June 2023

On 14 December 2022, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus adopted Resolution 865, providing for a new six-month extension of the embargo on some food products from selected countries, until 30 June 2023. The measure was initially introduced on 6 December 2021, with the adoption of Resolution 700. The document provides for an embargo on goods produced in the European Union, the United States of America, Canada, Norway, Albania, Iceland, North Macedonia, the United Kingdom, Montenegro, and Switzerland. The list of banned goods include, among others, meat, milk and some dairy products, potatoes, onions, carrots, beetroots, cabbage, apples, nuts, animal fat, confectionery and salt.
