On 19 January 2023, the Government of Liberia issued Executive Order No. 115, which extends Executive Order No. 106 on the suspension of import tariffs on agricultural inputs and machinery. The new Order, which took effect immediately, aims to continue to boost the agricultural sector.

Executive Order No. 115 covers over 40 different products and machinery, including seeds and planting materials, fertilizers, insecticides, and tractors. Importers of these products will continue to pay customs users fees and the ECOWAS Trade Levy, where applicable. The measure is expected to promote the commercial viability of agricultural activities and to improve and sustain farmers’ incomes.
