Cambodia waives the 10 percent value-added tax for rice products

06/04/2016,

In late March 2016, the Government of Cambodia announced it will drop the 10 percent value-added tax (VAT) on rice products. The tax is incurred mainly by millers, and thus its removal will lower production costs. The measure is part of the country’s continuing efforts to boost the rice sector by supporting both millers and farmers.
