Soils – quite literally provide most of our food and are central to our planet’s life-support system.
Since the first WSD in 2014, the Global Soil Partnership (GSP) has managed to harness interest from soil specialists and enthusiasts alike, meaning that with every passing year more people are connecting and uniting to preserve soils. Interest has expanded from 42 events in 2014 to about 781 celebrations in 125 countries in 2021.
Celebrated by a community of over 60 000-soil scientists, during the past years, WSD has gained great momentum, reaching an ever-larger audience of hundreds of millions as stipulated in the UN Resolution.
