The Statistical office of Georgia (Geostat) expressed strong interest in participating in the AGRISurvey programme to address its data needs and improving the agricultural data.
FAO is partnering with Geostat on the improvement of the annual agricultural survey. The new survey of agricultural holdings collects data on crop area, production data on crop and livestock and economic data, using CAPI and CAWI questionnaires.
AGRISurvey is working with the country to develop additional survey modules based on the AGRIS methodology, including, specifically, the Production Methods and Environment module and Labour input.
Trainings are planned with Geostat and the Ministry of environment and agriculture of computing and using the economic indicators for policy analysis, and for compilation of SDG indicators based on the annual agricultural survey.
