Floating bio-robots will study the depths of the Indian Ocean
Voyage partners from Australia’s Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) will for the first time be using BioArgo robotic flats to study the Indian Ocean. The four floating bio-robots will be deployed during this Nansen voyage (between Christmas Island and Madagascar). The robotic floats can reach a depth of 2000 metres and will transmit data via satellite to researchers in real time.
