This report summarizes the findings from the study that review the status of forest and land degradation, restoration approaches commonly used and the policy and institutional environments which can support the introduction of FLR approaches in the region.

These guidelines are intended to advise decision-makers at all levels and practitioners of the role of forests and forest restoration in building resilience in dryland landscapes. Suggestions for assessment, monitoring, and evaluation are covered and included are 27 case studies of successful initiatives around the world.

To address FLR cost-benefit analysis knowledge gap, this report presents a cost-benefit framework for accounting for the ecosystem services and economic impacts of FLR activities in a way that allows the results to be structured to inform multiple types of restoration decision-making that can help decision-makers understand the trade-offs of different restoration scenarios.

CPC is an international standard for assembling and tabulating all kinds of data requiring product detail, including statistics on industrial production, domestic and foreign commodity trade, international trade in services, balance of payments, consumption and price statistics and other data used within the national accounts. The current version is under review.
