Monitoring and Analysing Food and Agricultural Policies

NEW MAFAP Website and Database online

27/10/2014

The new MAFAP website features a more comprehensive and user-friendly database and overall layout with individual country dashboards.

The database interface will allow users to create on-the-fly charts, graphs, tables and maps with data (from 2005) on (i) price incentives and disincentives for key commodities, (ii) and public expenditure in support of the food and agriculture sector.

Each country dashboard presents country-specific graphs and charts with MAFAP’s latest results on price incentives for agricultural commodities, agricultural public expenditure, key macro indicators and soon, policy coherence. Certain features of the new database and country dashboards enable closer country collaboration, such as the ability for country partners and relevant stakeholders to directly access secure areas where timely information, results and indicators can be shared.

What’s next? Currently, MAFAP is updating over 80 commodity-specific technical notes and public expenditures analyses for 9 African countries, soon to be published online.
