Food security and agriculture: accelerating adaptation (SAGA 2)

Partners

The SAGA 2 project brings together a large network of partners at the international, national and local levels, all committed to its successful implementation. The collaboration includes three universities and nine international cooperation organizations from Quebec, working in association with their national and local partners in Côte d'Ivoire, Haiti and Senegal. This interdisciplinary and multi-stakeholder network creates a strong foundation for a productive cooperation for adapting agricultural sectors to climate change.

University Laval is one of the largest universities in Canada and a leader in research and innovation. Ranked 4th globally for its climate actions by the Times Higher Education Supplement, it has also received a second gold medal from the international sustainability tracking, assessment, and rating system (STARS), marking over 10 years of exceptional commitment in this field.

CUDI is an educational institution dedicated to promoting integrated development in Haiti. CUDI offers programs combining academic knowledge and practical skills, focusing on community development, sustainable practices, and capacity-building to empower individuals and foster holistic growth in society.

UPA DI is an international cooperation organization focused on the development of family agricultural entrepreneurship as a sustainable model that combines economic, ecological, individual, and collective interests. Present in around fifteen countries across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Latin America, UPA DI has a network of over sixty field partners.

WASCAL is a regional organization focused on scientific research on climate change and sustainable land use in West Africa. The African Centre of Excellence on Climate Change, Agriculture, and Development (CEA-CCBAD) is part of WASCAL and aims to promote innovation and capacity building in these areas to help countries in the region better adapt to climate challenges.
