Agricultural investments are long-term in nature, because plantations last 30 to 40 years. In that sense, agricultural investments require to take climate change into considerations, because a land that is considered suitable might indeed have become prone to flood or drought and not be suitable in the future. Climate change might affect the productivity of agricultural investments over the time.

The Department of Agricultural Land Management (DALAM) is working on the development of an app allowing to define areas that are suitable for a certain crop and that will continue to be suitable in the future. Soon, DALAM will launch the Land Resources Information Management System (LRIMS), which is a web system containing big-data accessible online by the entire population. Over the next few months, the LRMIS will be simplified and will take the form of a simple app to help the population with land investment planning.
