The experience of the Brazil–FAO Trilateral South-South Cooperation Programme on School Feeding demonstrates that coordination among different government stakeholders is essential to ensuring the effectiveness, sustainability, and continuity of public policies such as school feeding. This intersectoral collaboration enhances the technical implementation of programmes while strengthening them through closer coordination among institutions, enabling a more integrated approach that reflects the multiple dimensions of school feeding.

For this reason, the programme actively promotes dialogue and cooperation among professionals from sectors such as Education, Health, Social Development, and Agriculture, at both the national and local levels. This reflects the cross-cutting nature of school feeding, which directly contributes to key development outcomes, including food and nutrition security, social inclusion, rural development, public health, and quality education.

In this way, the programme strengthens its strategic contribution to the holistic development of students while reinforcing local agrifood systems, generating positive impacts on education, health, and sustainable development.
