The 50x2030 Initiative to Close the Agricultural Data Gap aims to support agricultural data collection, processing, and dissemination efforts of National Statistical Offices (NSOs) and Ministries of Agriculture (MoA). The Initiative responds to the demand for more and higher quality agricultural data, in view of fostering evidence-based decision-making at national level, and countries’ ability to monitor the Sustainable Development Goal indicators, particularly those related to agriculture.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) oversees the Data Production component of the Initiative and has been assisting Statistics Indonesia (BPS) in the implementation of integrated agriculture surveys. One important dimension under the Data Production component relates to the data dissemination processes, that would not only provide public access to the agricultural survey data, but that would also maintain data confidentiality and security.
