Final Small Drafting Team meeting for the development of the Presidential Regulation on the One Health (Satu Kesehatan) and Urgency Paper

Bogor City (Indonesia), 11/11/2025 - 12/11/2025

Indonesia faces increasingly complex health threats from emerging infectious diseases (EIDs), zoonoses, and antimicrobial resistance (AMR), driven by close interaction between humans, animals, and the environment. The One Health approach offers an integrated framework to strengthen national health resilience by uniting these sectors. Building on its leadership in the G20 and ASEAN One Health initiatives, Indonesia has advanced cross-sectoral coordination through national regulations, surveillance systems, and AMR control programs. However, challenges such as fragmented coordination, limited funding, and the absence of a binding legal framework persist. To institutionalize and sustain One Health implementation, the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (CMHDCA), together with relevant ministries, is finalizing the Urgency Paper and draft Presidential Regulation on One Health as the basis for submitting the Izin Prakarsa (Initiation Permit) to the President of the Republic of Indonesia for endorsement.
