The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Jordan signed today, Thursday, March 27, 2025, an agreement titled "Local Engagement and Awareness-Raising on Climate Change Adaptation in the Governorates of Madaba, Karak, Tafileh, and Ma’an" with Sustainable Scientific Vision for Engineering and Environment (SSV). Under this agreement, a community engagement plan with civil society organizations on climate change adaptation will be developed.

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture in Jordan and with generous funding from the Government of Japan, celebrated today the completion of a vital 12-month project addressing climate and natural resource crises in Jordan’s refugee hotspots. A closing ceremony in Amman marked the project’s significant achievements in supporting hosting communities.

Nabil Assaf have signed an agreement today to launch the Water Scarcity Initiative (WSI) in the Near East and North Africa (NENA) region. The signing ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Jordan Valley Authority Eng. Hisham Al-Haisa and Secretary-General of the Water Authority Eng. Wael Al-Duwairi and a number of officials.

The project, titled “Emergency response to climate change and natural resource crises in refugee hotspots in Jordan,” will focus on disaster risk reduction, community-based solutions, and forest rehabilitation.
