FAO in Kyrgyzstan
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has partnered with Kyrgyzstan since the country joined the United Nations in 1993.
FAO assistance in Kyrgyzstan mainly focuses on enhancing capacities to assess, plan and implement action for achieving sustainable food and nutrition security and spans the agriculture sector, including crop, livestock and fisheries projects, support to sustainable land and forest management in the face of climate change, and disaster risk management.
FAO Priorities in Kyrgyzstan
FAO partners with Kyrgyzstan through jointly approved Country Programming Framework (CPF) that outline principal area of cooperation for the forthcoming 5 years period. The CPF aims to support the Government in achieving its national strategic priorities related to the transformation of the food systems, green economy and climate change. The Country Programming Framework 2023–2027 is derived from the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) Kyrgyzstan (2023-2027).
