Somalia Water and Land Information Management (SWALIM): Improving flood risk management in Somalia

FAO’s Somalia Water and Land Information Management (SWALIM) project contributed to improve livelihoods and food security by strengthening private sector-led, sustainable economic rural development through the provision of information products and services that address the needs of Somalis affected by drought, flooding and resource-based conflicts. All SWALIM activities were implemented in collaboration with Somali public institutions, particularly productive sector government ministries to ensure that the products and services were eventually taken over by these institutions and run sustainably.
