The Launch of Gender-Lex

Gender-Lex provides a comprehensive view of gender-responsive national approaches embedded in sectoral legislation. It serves as a valuable knowledge resource to eliminate legal barriers and to recognize and address the social, cultural, economic, and administrative challenges that hinder gender equality.
The main objectives of this launching event are:
a) to introduce the new online legal database Gender-Lex with a focus on legal instruments that strengthen gender equality in agrifood systems;
b) to raise awareness of the role of sectoral legislation in integrating gender-responsive approaches that can achieve transformative impact;
c) to highlight the role of Gender-Lex as a legislative support tool; and
d) to reflect on how policymakers, parliamentarians and development partners can leverage this new resource to inform their own work (e.g. to inform the CEDAW Committee, SG reports and other mechanisms).
