Bulletins
FAO’s Desert Locust Information Service (DLIS) produces monthly Desert Locust Bulletins that are distributed by email to affected countries, donors and other relevant agencies and individuals. On the first page of the Bulletin, there is a general situation summary and forecast (first paragraph) followed by regional summaries and forecasts. On the second page is an overview of weather and ecological conditions, and areas treated. Subsequent pages contain situation summaries and six-week forecasts for each country. Lastly, there are announcement and reference sections. During periods of increased locust activity, bulletins are supplemented with alerts and updates.
