Actions on One Health: Voices from youth

CALL FOR VIDEOS

Youth are key agents of change in the transformation of agrifood systems. Across the world, many young people are developing new ideas, experimenting with technology, and rethinking how agrifood systems can be improved – often with limited support and visibility.

To help amplify youth voices from the field during the upcoming FAO Global Conference for Actions on One Health in Agrifood Systems, taking place from 21 to 23 September at FAO in Rome, the Coordination Team of the Global Youth Network on Sustainable Livestock Transformation calls for videos under the theme of Actions on One Health: Voices from the field.

This call aims to showcase youth-led innovations as well as highlight youth perspectives on key opportunities, challenges and actions to strengthen One Health in agrifood systems.

We are inviting all young professionals (aged 18–35), applying One Health principles in their work, to submit a short video (under 2 minutes) sharing your insights and experiences. Your video should address one or more of the following guiding questions.

Guiding questions

  • What inspired you to integrate One Health principles into your work?
  • Based on your experience, how has the One Health approach improved your work or the outcomes you are trying to achieve?
  • If you could share one message with decision-makers to strengthen One Health in agrifood systems, what would it be?

Format and technical requirements for the video

  • Video length: under 2 minutes
  • Language: English is preferred, however, submissions in any of the six FAO official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish) are also accepted.

  • Record the video in the field (for exmaple, on a farm).
  • Avoid over-exposed pictures, avoid filming against the light or when it is too bright.
