The Secretariat of the International Treaty organized a series of regional briefing sessions/webinars on the implementation of the International Treaty in May 2022, covering the following areas of work: The Multilateral System, the Global Information System, and Compliance and reporting.
The four webinars were held at different days and time slots, to accomodate participants in different time zones: Asia and the South West Pacific (English), Europe and North America (English), Near East and Africa (Arabic, English, French), and Latin America and the Caribbean (English, Spanish). The objective of the webinars is to enhance the capacity of national focal points to prepare and submit the national reports on the implementation of the International Treaty.  It will provide an overview on the compliance procedures, the online reporting system and some examples of reports and analysis already published online. This training event is organized by the Secretariat of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture with the Support of the Government of Germany.

The Compliance Committee will consider all national reports received by 1 May 2019. This is an opportunity for national focal points, reporting officers and other interested stakeholders to get familiar with the national reporting cycle of the International Treaty. This webinar will be conducted in English.  The Secretariat will organize one in Spanish the day after.
