First Latin America and Caribbean Food Loss and Waste Reduction Congress

The First Latin America and Caribbean Food Loss and Waste Reduction Congress promises to be a defining moment for discussion of the future on how to decisively reduce food losses and waste. The Organizing Committee sends a warm invitation to scientists, technicians, students, consultants, producers, commerce and consumer organizations, politicians, and public agents, and all those interested in the theme: “A Sustainable Path for Substantially Reducing Food Loss and Waste in Latin America and the Caribbean” to participate in the congress.
 

The FoodLoss2019 congress presents a program with the participation of renowned speakers addressing the most pressing issues for meeting the need to prepare effective actions in order to reduce losses and waste of food. The statistics on food losses and waste at a global level are not in line with what has already been achieved through technological advances in food production.
 

The city of Bento Gonçalves is surrounded by vineyards that well represent the region where European immigrants settled in the first decades of the 19th century. In this way, besides the scientific aspects, it is possible for the participants of the congress and those accompanying them to enjoy the cultural richness of the region.
