Technical Platform on the Measurement and Reduction of Food Loss and Waste

Let's meet in the middle: How the central stages of the food value chain shape the way we produce and consume

Hybrid Event, 22/03/2021

TIME: 14h - 15h15 (CET)

This webinar aims to set the stage for the upcoming consultations by illustrating this message through innovative examples from across the One Planet network and beyond. Examples from the public and private sector will demonstrate how actions at the central stages of the food value chain - transport, processing, distribution, retail - can have significant impact on the production practices at one end, and consumption habits at the other.   The presentations will explore how these ripple effects from actions taken at the central stages of the value chain reduce environmental impacts and natural resource use.

This webinar is the first in a series throughout 2021 which will focus on a particular theme or message of the One Planet network. In March this message centers around the recently released value chain report and the real-world examples from the One Planet network which can help to demonstrate some of its main conclusions. Stay tuned for webinars each month which will tackle a new theme, while staying connected to the science around natural resource use and environmental impacts.
