Training school

The training on “Preventing food loss and waste in supply chains” provides information from a global, regional (Europe, Asia and the Pacific, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean) and national perspective.

Food represents a significant investment of our resources including water, soil and energy, labor, time.

Post-harvest loss, food loss, and food waste are among the major contributors to climate change and their prevention and reduction is cross-cutting - as it addresses both adaptation and mitigation.

Case studies results for post-harvest loss analyses and solution identification are discussed, along with the methodological approach. Sectors include, for instance: cereals and pulses, fisheries.

The training includes examples of climate technologies that, at different stages of the food supply chain, could support food loss prevention.
