Annual International Stop Wasting Food Dinner 2023

Her Royal Highness Princess Marie of Denmark participated as a guest of honor in the Annual International Stop Wasting Food Dinner 2023 hosted by the Italian Embassy in Denmark and the Stop Wasting Food movement (Stop Spild Af Mad) in relation to the United Nations World Food Day and United Nations International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, IDAFLW.

Topics such as nutrition, food waste, food loss, food culture, climate change, consumer behavior and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were on the agenda. This Dinner was a high level mini-summit with focus on food losses and food waste and aimed to provide national and international inspiration for the fight against food losses and food waste - and to focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goal 12.3. The Annual International Stop Wasting Food Dinner 2023 was organized by H.E. Italian Ambassador to Denmark Stefania Rosini and the Italian Embassy in Denmark in collaboration with the Stop Wasting Food movement (Stop Spild Af Mad) and its Chairman of the Board and Founder and Champion 12.3 Selina Juul. 

Among the guests were H.E. Former President of the 70th United Nations General Assembly Mogens Lykketoft, H.E. Ambassador of France to Denmark Christophe Parisot, H.E. Senior Enterprise Development Officer at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Rosa Rolle and H.E. Professor Sebastian H. Mernild, Head of SDU Climate Cluster and Lead Author on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) AR6 Climate Report. 

The food on the menu was prepared from good surplus food. This event took place for the 5th time, where each time a new stakeholder, together with the Stop Wasting Food movement (Stop Spild Af Mad) takes the baton and co-organizes a Stop Wasting Food dinner or lunch
