Process to become Party to the PSMA
The PSMA opened for signature in November 2009, and remained open for one year. In that time, seventeen FAO Members signed; however, a signature does not make a country Party to the PSMA.
To become Party to the PSMA, an original instrument of adherence should be deposited with the FAO Director-General. For PSMA signatories, this instrument could be one of acceptance, ratification or approval while for non-signatories, this is an instrument of accession.
The diagram on this page explains the straightforward process involved:
An instrument of adherence template for both PSMA signatories and non-signatories could be requested from the Secretariat.
