Sri Lanka's economic crisis in 2021 led to limited import of fertilizers and other inputs. As a result smallholder farmers struggled to maintain their cultivations and livelihoods. In response, FAO with funding from the government of Canada, supported 92 farmers in three provinces to produce high-quality seeds for improved onion and chilli production.
