Legume Value-Chains in Ethiopia: Landscaping Study

2014

The landscaping study investigates eight (non-fodder) legume value-chains in Ethiopia (chickpea, faba bean, field pea, grass pea, groundnut, haricot beans, lentils and soybean) in terms of: the key players, farming systems, business models and profit margins. The study followed the integrated value-chain development concept, taking up a systems approach that focuses on the entire value-chain, including: R&D, crop management, input and business services, markets, finance and policy interventions.
