24/04/2016

Implemented by FAO and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the project GCP/MON/014/EC is designed to contribute to inclusive and sustainable development in Mongolia through promotion of quality employment focusing on the non-mining sector and enabling the private sector to create jobs in areas where Mongolia has potential comparative advantages. Specifically, it aims to strengthen conditions and capacity for private-sector employment creation in specific value chains in the livestock and vegetable sectors. Initially the project will pilot employment creation in five foodand non-food value chains: i) meat; ii) dairy; iii) textiles (cashmere, camel and yak hair, and wool); iv) leather; and v) vegetable. The four-year project is funded primarily by the European Union (EUR 4.15 million) with limited co-financing from FAO and UNIDO.
