CPM-11. Pest risks and sea containers

Plenary Hall (FAO Headquarters)
07.04.2016
 Rome time

Sea containers may carry interior and exterior contamination. With international trade expanding, the threat of pests of plants, including invasive alien species, being spread via sea containers is a concern for the agriculture and forestry sectors, as well as for biodiversity. The Session will highlight the related risks, enhance understanding and decide on how to move forward. It will be an opportunity to hear the views of IPPC contracting parties, and those of international organizations and stakeholders involved in international shipping.
