World Food Day - Towards Zero Hunger

The Director-General will open the event and launch the publication ‘Towards Zero Hunger’, exploring FAO’s efforts to end hunger and malnutrition over the past 72 years. The second part of the event will be an interactive discussion with the FAO Special Goodwill Ambassadors describing challenges and opportunities faced and their intentions to motivate Zero Hunger efforts in their respective regions.

 

For the first time, FAO Ambassadors for Zero Hunger from across the regions will unite for an official presentation by the Director-General and interact with students from across different regions including RLC, RAF RNE and REU.

 

Zero Hunger dialogues - the way forward: Interactive discussions with the FAO Special Goodwill Ambassadors for Zero Hunger:  

 

- Her Royal Highness, Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand,   FAO Special Goodwill Ambassador for Zero Hunger for the Region of Asia and the Pacific (Video Message)  

- Kanayo F. Nwanze, FAO Special Goodwill Ambassador for Zero Hunger, for the Region of Africa

- Guadalupe Valdez, FAO Special Goodwill Ambassador for Zero Hunger   for the Region of Latin America and the Caribbean  

- Darine El Khatib, , FAO Special Goodwill Ambassador for Zero Hunger for the Region of Near East and North Africa

 - Carlo Petrini, FAO Special Goodwill Ambassador for Zero Hunger for the Region of Europe
