Well-managed Urban and Peri-urban Forestry provide ecosystem goods and services and can help local administrations respond to the needs of growing urban populations.
In view of the above, the objectives of the high level dialogue are to:
- raise awareness of the key contribution that urban forests and green spaces can provide towards the achievement of sustainable development;
- provide compelling arguments for cities to invest in urban forestry; and,
- foster cross-sectoral collaboration towards an effective integration of urban forestry in the urban planning, design and management for more sustainable urban development.
