The event will highlight the challenges and opportunities of the forest-water nexus in practice and policy and how management and policies need to be based on a scientific understanding of environmental systems. It also aims to present the current scientific understanding of forest-water interactions and to encourage collaborative, strategic management of forests as natural solutions addressing development for people and nature, at the same time contributing to the SDGs and the Paris Agreement.
