Towards the International Year of Camelids
Rome time
The International Year of Camelids (IYC) aims to raise awareness about the importance these animals for society. Camelids hold cultural and ecological significance, particularly in desert and mountain regions, where they are integral part of the livelihoods and traditional ways of life of indigenous communities. The side event will review the progress, challenges, and perspectives of the camelid sector in the Americas, Africa and Asia and consider the customs and practices of the communities towards IYC in line with the 2030 Agenda.
