Building a common vision for sustainable food and agriculture: The experience from Rwanda

Iran Room (FAO Headquarters)
01.12.2014
 Rome time
This side event will present current efforts and achievements by FAO and the Government of Rwanda towards building and implementing a common vision for sustainable food and agriculture, and discuss the way forward for implementation in other Member Countries.

FAO’s Common Vision for sustainable food and agriculture calls for a new, strategic and integrated way to engage with Member Countries in their efforts to move towards making their agriculture, forestry and fisheries more productive and more sustainable. After having developed a set of concepts, approaches and tools to facilitate implementation, FAO is now piloting the SFA approach in 3 countries (Bangladesh, Morocco, Rwanda) to test its effectiveness and learn from it before upscaling the work in more countries in the near future.
