ICN2 Follow-up: Overcoming Malnutrition in Agenda 2030

About the event: One year after ICN2, this event will present the new global architecture that is emerging to support the comprehensive approach to nutrition embedded in the ICN2 outcomes and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The Director-General of FAO will be joined by the Chair of CFS, the Vice President of IFAD, the Special Representative of the Secretary General for Food Security and Nutrition, the Co-Chair of the Global Nutrition Report. Seven FAO Members will share national or regional perspectives, and stakeholders will be invited to dialogue on priorities, opportunities and next steps. Lunch refreshments will be served immediately following the programme in the Sheik Zayed Lounge, just behind the Sheikh Zayed Center. |
Purpose: The event will provide an opportunity to: - Present the comprehensive global nutrition agenda articulated by ICN2 and Agenda 2030
- Announce FAO’s new vision and stance: Food systems approach to all forms of malnutrition; upscaling the nutrition agenda within the Organization and the UN system
- Highlight key institutional changes in the UN system (Agenda 2030, SUN, HLTF); CFS; SCN; GNR
- Elicit FAO Members’ views on priorities, opportunities and next steps
