AGRIS for Data Providers Online Course is now updated and accessible to all

FAO Knowledge

The FAO AGRIS Data Provider Online Course, launched in May 2023, has been updated to reflect the latest changes in the AGRIS platform. The online course is accessible to all data providers already part of the network or interested in becoming one.

How to register

To register for the course, email your interest to [email protected]. The course offers self-paced learning, allowing participants to access course units and lessons at their convenience. After completing the course, participants must pass an online exam to receive certification.

The course outline

The course consists of two units with five lessons in English and covers basic steps, including resource selection, metadata creation, and submission. The units are essential and sequential for the successful completion of the course, with Unit 1 providing an introduction to AGRIS and Unit 2 covering contributing to AGRIS (selecting resources, metadata requirements, creating content, and exposing and submitting metadata).

Upcoming: Translating the course in different languages

FAO is working on translating the course into multiple languages to ensure inclusivity and broader participation from data providers globally.
