In a high-level meeting, State Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur discussed the "Sustainable Food Systems Mechanism" as an alternative to developing an effective marketing mechanism in Himachal Pradesh, India. In order to ensure adequate marketing and certification of natural agricultural products, small farmers get better prices for their produce and recognize that natural farming is human and environmental health.

During the meeting, the newly released Enabling sustainable food systems - innovators' handbook has been presented. Dr. Allison Loconto, Deputy Director of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Science, Innovation, and Society (LISIS), part of the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment and one of the authors of the handbook, said that better cooperation must be ensured at a local level to promote natural farming.
