The Forest and Landscape Restoration Mechanism

Internship Opportunity with TEER at FAO's FLRM

03/11/2021

The Forest and Landscape Restoration Mechanism (FLRM) of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations welcomes students and recent graduates to join The Economics of Ecosystem Restoration (TEER) initiative.

The internship will offer an enriching and highly valuable experience in an international and multicultural working environment and the opportunity to supplement your academic knowledge with a practical experience with TEER. TEER is a multi-partner initiative to collect standardized data about the costs and benefits of ecosystem restoration worldwide. All TEER products are the result of online and in-person consultations conducted with a wide range of partner organizations coordinated by the FLRM.

The TEER oversaw the development of a standard framework and associated template for data collection and is now entering a data collection phase to grow its database using information from both current and past restoration projects. TEER interns will work with partners and assist project managers in applying the data collection template to a given set of projects, either from a particular region, institution, or ecosystem.

Interns are encouraged to up analyses of the data they will collect from their set of projects, either in peer-review articles or for their master thesis, in close collaboration with the direct TEER internship supervisor and members.

If you are interested, please create your profile on the FAO online recruitment system TALEO following the Quick Guide for Candidates and apply to the following Call for Expression on Interest published on the FAO employment website: Call For Expression Of Interest – HQ Internship Programme (Taleo Requisition No. 2102461).
