Viet Nam: integrating agriculture sectors into national climate change adaptation plans

Dao Xuan Lai, who works as an Assistant Country Director of UNDP in Viet Nam, highlights the vulnerability of the country’s agriculture sectors and communities, and the need to plan climate change adaptation action.

He emphasizes the importance of identifying the potential climate impact, vulnerabilities, gaps and minimizing the damage and loss caused by weather variability and climate change, as part of the country’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP).

Mr Dao Xuan Lai shares in this video his views about the needs of Viet Nam especially in developing capacity in climate-smart agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry, technical knowledge. More finance is needed to reply to these needs.

The FAO-UNDP “Integrating Agriculture in National Adaptation Plans (NAP-Ag)” Programme is working with Viet Nam, and other countries, to safeguard livelihoods and promote resilience.
