Walter Oyhantcabal on Uruguay’s national adaptation plan for agriculture

Walter Oyhantcabal, Director, Sustainability and Climate Change Unit, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Uruguay, tells us how the agricultural National Adaptation Plan (NAP) will help the country to cope with climate change. The NAP process was led by the Unit of Sustainability and Climate Change within the Office of Agricultural Programming and Policy (OPYPA) of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP), in coordination with the National System of Response to Climate Change and Variability (SNRCC), with the technical support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), under the Integrating Agriculture into National Adaptation Plans (NAP-Ag) Program funded by Germany (BMU).
