TAP is expanding its partners’ network


New three partners have just joined TAP in support of agricultural innovation systems: the Commission for Sustainable Agriculture Intensification (CoSAI), the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and SmartFood.

 

CoSAI, supported by the CGIAR, has been established to influence global investment growth for innovation in agricultural systems. CoSAI is utilizing an evidence and inquiry-based approach to ensure a strong and effective case is articulated for investment growth from both the public and private sectors. The partnership with TAP is expected to concentrate on knowledge sharing and investment influence focused on innovation in sustainable agriculture intensification.

 

SAARC is an intergovernmental organization in South Asia with the objective to  promote economic growth, social progress and cultural development within the South Asia region. SAARC comprises eight Member States: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The partnership with TAP is aimed to bring sustainable transformation in agriculture and food systems in the farming community in South Asia, with focus on the development of national capacities of agricultural innovation systems.

 

SmartFood is a global initiative with the key objective to diversify staples across Africa and Asia. As partner of TAP, SmartFood plans to contribute with strong cross sector communication activities that can also be leveraged for knowledge sharing. Key approaches of SmartFood in line with the TAP include fostering networks and South-South collaborations in Africa and Asia; exchanging knowledge and information; advocating and fostering cross sector collaborations; and focusing on advocacy through to scientific technical evidence
